Seminole Chapter, NSDAR was organized on December 5, 1922, and was the first DAR chapter in Palm Beach County. Mrs. Vincent Oaksmith was the Organizing Regent for 14 charter members. We have grown to a membership approaching 200 members, while Palm Beach County is now home to eight DAR chapters. Our name is derived from the Seminole Indians who once inhabited this part of the state and still occupy some of the same area today. Seminole Chapter, NSDAR strives to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American independence through its work in historic preservation, promotion of education, and patriotic endeavors.
Seminole Chapter, NSDAR meetings are held on the first Saturday of the month, October through May, unless otherwise specified. Please contact seminoledar@gmail.com for further information.
